Why it may fit a recovery plan
The session provides a controlled compression experience that some people find useful for temporary comfort after activity. In HLC care, it should complement a discussion of training load, movement, sleep and nutrition. It is not a substitute for investigating unexplained swelling, pain or a decline in performance.
Suitability before the session
Tell the team about a suspected or previous blood clot, significant vascular disease, acute infection, heart problems, wounds or unexplained leg symptoms. These can change whether or how compression should be used. A recovery-device session is different from specialist treatment of lymphoedema or another diagnosed condition.
During and after compression
The team fits the garment and selects the protocol. You feel repeated cycles of pressure and release. Report pain, numbness, unusual discomfort or any change in symptoms. Afterwards, review comfort and the purpose of the session; a pleasant sensation does not establish improved athletic performance.
